5 Simple Ways to Stimulate Your Brain

Here are five activities to help wake up your brain if you feel like it’s getting a little out of shape. They’re easy and fun:

1️⃣ Board Games – Don’t just follow the rules mechanically. Engage your brain by thinking about different moves and their consequences. What if you played one card instead of another? What if you moved a different piece? Try to anticipate your opponent’s next move.

2️⃣ Other Games –

  • Puzzles – Start with easy ones with fewer pieces. You don’t have to go for complex ones right away.
  • Crosswords – A great way to challenge your brain.

3️⃣ Read About Something You Like That Teaches You Something New

4️⃣ Consider Different Perspectives – Next time you need to make a decision, ask yourself: What would someone else do in my situation? Think about how your grandfather, mother, boss, teacher, or even a stranger might react. Consider their values, habits, and experiences.

5️⃣ Be Curious – Ask yourself: What will my future look like? Think about tomorrow, next week, next month, six months from now, a year, five years… Where will you be? What will you be doing? Who will you be with?

Try doing at least one of these activities every day. Switch things up—some days, do one, and on others, try a different one. Keep your brain active and engaged!
